Some adults go missing by choice; however, we won’t know this until we can locate them and ascertain if it’s their free will to be missing or not. In 2025, it’s often not known if it’s a free will choice to leave or stay away from loved ones until some information or location of the missing can be established. Not everyone wants to be found and if the individual is of sound mind as an adult, not a minor child, that choice may need to be respected.
